Important information if you use Windows XP

Windows_XP_SP3I’ll just start by saying this is NOT an April fools joke!.  From April 8th 2014 Windows XP will no longer be officially supported by Microsoft.

This means there will be no more security updates or fixes for problems.  Theres a good chance new products won’t come with drivers for Windows XP anymore too.  If you use your computer on the Internet this very important news because devices live and die through the support their manufacturers give.  Its extremely important that if there is a way found to exploit your system in some way that the manufactures ‘plug’ the hole.  This will no longer happen on Windows XP from the 8th.

Microsoft Security Essentials will also stop getting updates too.  This doesn’t mean you have to go and panic buy a new computer today.  But you should certainly read a little bit about it and decide if its a risk you’re willing to take.

Microsoft have published a page explaining in detail what this means to everyone.  We highly encourage you to have a read right now.
